Phelicia Dell

Phelicia Dell is a visionary Haitian designer whose work goes beyond fashion, transforming it into a powerful celebration of culture, identity, and artistry. Born in Port-au-Prince into a family rooted in craftsmanship, she inherited both a passion for design and a deep commitment to excellence. From an early age, her creative gift was evident, recognized as something destined to leave a lasting mark.

In 2006, she founded VèVè Collections, introducing a bold design language inspired by Haiti’s sacred symbols, vibrant energy, and Afro-Caribbean heritage. Her debut collection of 25 beaded cocktail gowns signaled the arrival of a brand that would redefine elegance while honoring tradition. For Phelicia, each piece is more than fashion—it is a story, a ritual, and a bridge between generations. Her handbags, known for their sculptural silhouettes and precise craftsmanship, have become signature works that merge sophistication with cultural meaning.

Her talent quickly earned international recognition. In 2009, Diane von Furstenberg named her the greatest rising handbag designer, and she has since been honored by Vital Voices and Women in Democracy for her leadership and cultural influence. Featured by The Daily Beast as one of 150 world-shakers, Phelicia has presented her designs on runways in Miami, New York, Paris, London, Montreal, and throughout the Caribbean. Among her many distinctions, she has been named Master Designer at Caribbean Fashion Week and recognized as one of Haiti’s 50 most inspiring women.

Beyond the runway, Phelicia is also the founder of Men Pou Demen, an artistic initiative devoted to empowering children through creativity, education, and cultural pride. Through this work, she uses art and design as tools for healing, self-discovery, and identity-building, helping the next generation understand the transformative power of creativity.

Her impact has been so significant that December 7th was officially proclaimed “Phelicia Dell Day” in Miami, honoring her contributions to art, heritage, and community. Today, VèVè Collections stands as one of Haiti’s most sustainable and internationally recognized fashion ventures. With her latest collection, Koleksyon Rit Zaka, Phelicia continues her mission to celebrate heritage, uplift communities, and create timeless designs that embody resilience, beauty, and identity.

From Port-au-Prince to the global stage, Phelicia Dell is more than a designer—she is a cultural ambassador, a creative force, and a symbol of Haitian excellence.
